The port of Antwerp counts the arrival and departure of approximately 60,000 seaward and 15,500  inland shipping vessels. This makes Antwerp one of the largest and busiest ports in the world. When disaster strikes it is of the utmost importance both economical and ecological that interventions - on inland as well as seagoing vessels - are executed quickly and efficiently.

In the past calamities and cleaning was not only time consuming, it also released enormous quantities of waste water. With new technology we succeeded in fast and efficient vessel cleaning and a 90% waste water reduction! The result being a huge cost reduction (just think of the huge waste water processing cost).

In large size ports speed is the most important factor. Thanks to its strategic location within the Antwerp port (quay 403) Mac can cover the entire port area within the hour. this allows us to respond very quicly to any disaster and reduce its impact to a minimum. For cleaning purposes, MAC has a deep water quay where vessels can moor free of charge.
